Almost never for lack of talent. After 1,200+ interviews, my rejections fall into five buckets: no-shows, expecting big money from day one, English clearly below B1, no consistent availability, and a cold tone in the situational chat. The test task simply makes the last three visible. Every one of these is fixable in a single evening — I’ve written out the 12 real questions I ask so you can walk in prepared.
You’ll hold several conversations in parallel — that’s the core of the craft and the reason a phone alone isn’t enough for this work. There’s no magic number I grade you against: what matters is that every chat stays warm, personal and responsive. Beginners start slower, and speed builds during the free 5–10 day training. If a reply starts reading like copy-paste, you’ve taken on too many. Quality always outranks volume here.
You won’t be fined — we have no penalties for a slow day or time off, and you set your own hours around the 4-hour daily minimum. What I do ask for is a heads-up. Reliability is the currency of this job: a no-show at the interview is my fastest reason to say no, and vanishing from a shift reads exactly the same way. Tell us in advance, and a missed day is simply not a problem.
On our internal timeline, a steady beginner reaches Junior ($500–800) in about two months, Middle ($900–1,400) around month six, and Senior ($1,600–4,800) after roughly a year. Yes. Our only age requirement is 18+, with no upper limit, and I’ve hired students, parents returning to work and career changers alike. This is text-only work under a profile persona: users never see your face, your age or your name, so none of it affects your income. What decides the outcome is English at B1+, a computer, and showing up consistently — and those work at any age.
The interview is a 20-minute online conversation — usually a text chat or a call — and even there the camera is optional, because what I’m assessing is your written English. The work itself is strictly text: no video with users, ever, and no photos of you required at any stage. If a company in this niche demands operators appear on camera, ask them why — the job is written.
You get the terms in writing before you start, and the confidential part is narrow: users’ conversations and their personal details stay private, always. You’re free to say where you work, what you do and what you earn — we publish our own pay ranges publicly, so there is no secret about the money. Discretion exists to protect the people you chat with, not to hide anything from you.
Not weak English and not slow typing — inconsistency. A frantic eight-hour day followed by three days of silence loses to four steady slots you never miss. Yes. You work as an independent contractor, so you can cut your hours or stop entirely whenever you like — no notice period, no penalty, and you keep everything you’ve earned. When life frees up again, just write to us. We’ll check your English is still comfortable at B1+, refresh whatever has changed, and you’re back on shifts. Leaving on good terms costs you nothing here.

You write under a profile persona, so users never see who you are, and your income depends on the warmth and quality of your writing, not on your identity. I interview and hire men and women against exactly the same four criteria: English, typing, motivation, reliability.
Honestly: the ranges are real, and so is the variation. Pay follows your activity and quality, so a slow week pays less — but there are no fines, no shifting quotas, and payouts have run weekly since 2018 from a $50 minimum.
